Stephen is a passionate naturalist and conservationist, who is a firm supporter of community conservation, bringing people and wildlife together.

From across the globe to closer to home, these are the organisations that do things differently, and are prepared to be brave and bold, but also have a lot of heart, steel and determination. They cover a widespread of areas from wildlife rescue, to connecting children to the outdoors and all are doing what they can.

Wildlife Conservation

Sumatran Oranugtan Conservation Programme (SOCP) – Sumatra, Indonesia

They do this by habitat protection, reintroduction of confiscated pets to the wild, education, survey work and scientific research. SOCP is seen as the foremost authority on the status and distribution of remaining wild Sumatran Orangutans, and are at the forefront in the battle to save the species remaining wild habitat.

The National Trust for Jersey – Jersey, Channel Islands (UK)
